Once known as the 'Athens of the North', it's rich in culture - one of the 17th century's greatest painters, Flemish Baroque master Rubens, lived here. There's a world famous fashion school so shopping is out of this world.
It has a wide range of gay cafes, bars and clubs including Europe's largest leather club and a popular lesbian club. 80% of the world's uncut diamonds are traded here and there is a spectacular Diamond Museum
