Reykjavic newest hotel, the Centrum was opened in April 2005. It is located on one of Reykjavik’s oldest streets in a newly renovated building, the oldest part of which was built in 1764. On each side of it, new buildings have been constructed in a similar style giving the hotel 89 modern rooms but in a building with the character of an Icelandic home of the early 20th Century.
It’s a convenient hotel too being just a block from the Laugavegur main shopping street and 5-10 minutes walk to the bars and clubs.
Rating and advising on hotels around the world is a tricky business as standards and facilities vary so widely not to mention issues such as décor style, service levels and location with particular relevance to gay amenities.
We don’t pretend that we have got this right but our Pink Triangles are our attempt to give a personal assessment to enable comparisons to be made between the various properties in an area which we feature. Couple this with price and our hotel descriptions and you should be able to make a reasonable assessment.
