The Inglaterra is well located on the Plaza Nueva in the heart of the fashion and shopping district of the Old Town and just five minutes walk from the Cathedral. The local tram starts outside the hotel for easy exploring of the city. You’re midway between the gay bars and restaurants of the Alameda and the Paseo Colon – both about ten minutes walk away.
The building was refurbished during 2004-2007 and has 86 rooms each of which is furnished in a cosmopolitan Spanish style but you’ll smile at the pastiche of the British way of life in the public spaces.
Rating and advising on hotels around the world is a tricky business as standards and facilities vary so widely not to mention issues such as décor style, service levels and location with particular relevance to gay amenities.
