Madrid enjoys the largest and most diverse gay scene of all Spain in its gay barrio, Chueca, just north of the Gran Via. It wakes up around 9pm and continues until well after dawn – so take an early evening siesta or visit a gay sauna. Wherever you explore in the City, be it strolling in the Retiro Park, discovering the museums and galleries of the Prado or modern art Reina Sophia, admiring the architecture in the Plaza Major or simply window shopping the fashion stores, you’ll find a gay friendly welcome. For a weekend city break, Madrid really does have something for everyone.
