Great value in the heart of the Shopping District
Our Metro on Pitt hotel was originally built in 1922 as South Sydney Post Office and the building still retains its original façade and Art Deco touches.
It was converted in 1999 to a hotel, known as the Pentura on Pitt for the Olympics and has 115 rooms over 7 floors. It was acquired by the renowned Metro Hotels chain in 2004 and changed it’s name to Metro on Pitt.
On the corner of Pitt and Bathurst, the Metro is opposite the Town Hall station for the subway and local trains and about 20 minutes walk to circular quay. Oxford street is around 10 minutes away in the opposite direction.

Rating and advising on hotels around the world is a tricky business as standards and facilities vary so widely not to mention issues such as décor style, service levels and location with particular relevance to gay amenities.
We don’t pretend that we have got this right but our Pink Triangles are our attempt to give a personal assessment to enable comparisons to be made between the various properties in an area which we feature. Couple this with price and our hotel descriptions and you should be able to make a reasonable assessment.
