A modern hotel overlooking the Rudolfplatz
The Barceló is located in one of Cologne's most famous squares, the Rudolfplatz. You're right on the edge of the trendy gay area known as the Bermuda Triangle and just two tram stops or a fifteen minute walk to the other area of gay bars and shops, the Heumarkt. Here you can enjoy the bars and cafes by day or the clubs and saunas by night.
All of Cologne's sites including the famous Döm, the cathedral and the River Rhine are all within walking distance making this an ideal place to stay during a weekend break.
It's a typical businessman's hotel with 10-storey hotel and over 300 rooms - it was previously a Crowne Plaza with a pool, sauna and gym plus a cosy bar and restaurant.

Rating and advising on hotels around the world is a tricky business as standards and facilities vary so widely not to mention issues such as décor style, service levels and location with particular relevance to gay amenities.
We don’t pretend that we have got this right but our Pink Triangles are our attempt to give a personal assessment to enable comparisons to be made between the various properties in an area which we feature. Couple this with price and our hotel descriptions and you should be able to make a reasonable assessment.
