A gay friendly property from a Spanish hotel chain
We rarely feature chain hotels in Spain because they lack personality and tend to be very formal and unfriendly but Melia Sitges is different. Maybe this is because it lies between the newer gay nudist beach at Playa de la Balmins and the Picnic Bar beach on the east edge of town. So it’s just a few minutes from the railway station and less than five minutes walk to the gay bars.
The public rooms have a very hip minimalist style with the bars and restaurants overlooking the gardens and the large pool. Yet the 300 guest rooms have a more homely traditional feel with fitted carpets and elegant soft furnishings. You’ll find all the usual amenities here also as befits a 4 star (official rating) hotel including a well equipped gym and indoor pool and spa.
Melia Sitges offers good value and should not be dismissed simply because of its chain hotel ancestry.
