Located in the quieter end of Copacabana, the Portinari is just one block back from the Beach and a short 10 minutes walk from Ipanema Beach.

Opened in 2004, the hotel was converted from an office building as a design icon with seven of Brazil’s most famous artists and interior designers furnishing and decorating each floor. The result is an eclectic mix of styles which work surprisingly well, possibly helped by the enthusiastic welcome of the staff, the top two floors house the restaurant, fitness centre and hot-tub
