The first building of Yankee Clipper was built during the 1950's in the shape of an ocean liner and the main capstan is still visible for’ard. Since then three further buildings have been constructed to provide nearly 500 rooms with three buildings offering direct access to the beach and the fourth access via a private walkway.
There are three pools and all hotel facilities are open to all guests regardless of the building where their room is located. Most popular is the beach pool which links directly to the golden sands through a beach bar and restaurant. The hotel is managed by Starwood and branded as a Sheraton.
The hotel is located at the very southern end of Ocean Boulevard close to the Port Everglades. It’s around 10 minutes walk to Sebastian Street beach but we would recommend a rental car as public transport does not run late into the night.
All our rooms are of similar size and offer similar amenities but superior and de-luxe rooms enjoy more spectacular views of either the ocean or the intracoastal waterway.
Our prices include all taxes on the items shown on your voucher. Any extras including resort fees will be charged locally.
Rating and advising on hotels around the world is a tricky business as standards and facilities vary so widely not to mention issues such as décor style, service levels and location with particular relevance to gay amenities.
We don’t pretend that we have got this right but our Pink Triangles are our attempt to give a personal assessment to enable comparisons to be made between the various properties in an area which we feature. Couple this with price and our hotel descriptions and you should be able to make a reasonable assessment.
