Located in the core of Key West’s old town ‘gay district’ on the historic Fleming Street, Equator Resort is one of a number of Victorian era timber clapboard houses. It's just a five-minute walk from downtown and Duval Street and a 5-minute USD10 taxi ride from the Airport.
This all-male “clothing optional around the pool” resort has 20 rooms offering a choice of cosy queen bed guest rooms or larger king suites with a separate sitting area. The resort was extensively refurbished in 2006 with a new pool, sun terraces and loungers.
All the elegant and spacious guest rooms are non-smoking with Mediterranean tile floors, comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, genuinely ample closets and lots of walk around space.
Rating and advising on hotels around the world is a tricky business as standards and facilities vary so widely not to mention issues such as décor style, service levels and location with particular relevance to gay amenities.
We don’t pretend that we have got this right but our Pink Triangles are our attempt to give a personal assessment to enable comparisons to be made between the various properties in an area which we feature. Couple this with price and our hotel descriptions and you should be able to make a reasonable assessment.
