Located on the site of the former French Opera house – the pinnacle of the New Orleans Creole society in the late 19th Century, the Inn was constructed in the 1920’s and now offers 186 well–appointed guest rooms many with the famous wrought iron balconies which overlook Bourbon Street or the cross-street Toulouse. You’ll be right in the midst of everything here and even the gay bars are within staggering distance.
The Inn surrounds a shaded courtyard with its pool and sun terraces and its public and guest rooms are all furnished in an early 20the century French style with ornately carved chairs and tables and exotic soft furnishings.
Rating and advising on hotels around the world is a tricky business as standards and facilities vary so widely not to mention issues such as décor style, service levels and location with particular relevance to gay amenities.
We don’t pretend that we have got this right but our Pink Triangles are our attempt to give a personal assessment to enable comparisons to be made between the various properties in an area which we feature. Couple this with price and our hotel descriptions and you should be able to make a reasonable assessment.
