Las Vegas
USA West Coast
In 1998, Las Vegas held its first Pride weekend and suddenly burst onto the gay and lesbian holiday destination scene. Its 2008 Pride Parade had over 50 floats including one from Amro Worldwide and was watched by over 50,000 people. There is an all gay male hotel, numerous gay owned bars and clubs including Krave which is right on the famous Las Vegas Strip.
Built on the back of legalised gaming in the late 1950's. Las Vegas still offers every conceivable game in casinos and slots seem to fill any unoccupied space. The brash neon lights of Vintage Vegas are still there on Fremont Street and in many hotels, but it is easy to have a great time here without risking a penny!
Stay in some of the best hotels imaginable - all at reasonable prices subsidised by gaming profits – and enjoy fabulous free form pools and terraces to soak up the Nevada sun. After a day round the pool, why not visit one of the amazing spas for a relaxing massage, facial or other treatment.
The two mile lone Las Vegas "strip" is a great street to explore, especially as darkness falls and the millions of neon bulbs light up the sky. You can then, wander in and out of the many hotels and casinos savouring the many contrasts and enjoying watching punters lose money!! You'll probably also find some great fine dining restaurants - again at reasonable prices – or try one of the hotel’s famous “eat as much as you like” buffets.
Enjoy some of the best entertainment and Diva shows of your life – Elton John, Barry Manilow and Bette Midler are regulars – and the Vegas Showboys are world famous and happy to pose for photos.
But Las Vegas is also in a great base from which to explore the nearby canyons, lakes and deserts. Lake Mead National Recreation Area is 25 miles away and has a gay nude lakeside beach area. The Hoover Dam is well worth a half day’s excursion to see how the mighty Colorado River is harnessed to generate electricity or why not try rafting on the river itself.
Death Valley - the lowest point on earth where nothing grows and summer temperatures hit the 140's is 3 hours car drive away. The all time favourite of a flight over the Grand Canyon landing near the South Rim is also an affordable and exciting day out.
We can book any Vegas hotels including the many themed properties which are more like amusement parks but our collection have all been inspected as being inclusive and comfortable for gays and lesbians.
